Privacy Policy

Overview

Vertix at getvertix.app is a personal life operating system built for individual use, operated by Zack Wicker, an individual developer based in Eugene, Oregon, United States. This policy explains what we collect, why, who it is shared with, and how long we keep it.

Information You Give Us

Account: your email address and, if you sign up with a password, a hashed password. Onboarding and the app: whatever you choose to enter, which can include your first name, habits, goals, journal and mood entries, classes and assignments, budgets and income, and health details such as weight, height, age, biological sex, activity level, nutrition targets, workouts, sleep, medications and skincare. All onboarding fields are optional and can be edited or cleared in Settings. Launch-updates form: your first name and email, plus the IP address and browser identifier of the request, kept to detect abuse of the form.

Information From Services You Connect

Only when you connect them, and each can be disconnected from Settings: Google Calendar (read-only, calendar.readonly scope: your upcoming events, shown inside Vertix, and, if you use Exams, the times you are busy, read with Google's free/busy query to place your study blocks around them; that query returns only start and end times, so Vertix reads no event titles or details for that purpose. Vertix never writes to your calendar: it does not create, change or delete events. Calendar data is not used for any other purpose, and it is shared only with Groq when you ask the AI coach about your schedule: the events and study times it needs to answer are processed by Groq to generate the reply, as described under Third-Party Services), Teller (read-only bank account and transaction data for the Finance tab), and Canvas (your courses and assignments). If you grant location access on the home screen, your approximate coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo for the weather and to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to name your location; they are not stored by Vertix.

How We Use Your Information

To provide the features you use, to run the AI coach on the data you have entered, to send the emails you have turned on, and to keep the service working. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count page views, measure performance, and record which features are used. These are cookieless and aggregate. Feature events carry no personal content: for example, we record that a habit was toggled or an item was scanned, never which habit or what the item was.

Cookies and Local Storage

Essential cookies: when you sign in, Vertix sets session cookies (authjs.session-token and related sign-in cookies) that expire after 14 days. One non-essential cookie: if you arrive through a friend's referral link, a cookie named ref holding their referral code is stored for 30 days so the referral can be credited when you sign up; it contains nothing about you. Local storage in your browser holds display preferences such as accent colour, font size and tab order, and never leaves your device. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Email

Transactional email (welcome, password reset, and accountability nudges from partners you have connected) is sent through Resend. Daily and weekly digests are off by default and only sent if you turn them on in Settings, where you can turn them off again. Launch updates are sent only to addresses submitted through the launch-updates form; reply to any of them or email us to be removed.

Third-Party Services

Vertix is built on and shares data with these providers, each under its own privacy policy: Vercel (hosting and analytics), Supabase (PostgreSQL database), Stripe (payment processing for Pro; we never see your card number), Resend (email delivery), Groq (AI features; the text you send to the coach and the data it needs to answer are processed by Groq to generate the reply), Google (Calendar, sign-in, and the favicon service used to show news-site and retailer icons), Teller and Canvas (when connected), Open-Meteo and OpenStreetMap (weather and location naming, only with your permission), Open Library (book covers in the reading tab), and Indeed (the job-search tab fetches public listings for the search terms you type).

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database associated with your account and served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt; bank connections are held as Teller enrollment tokens and never as credentials. No system is completely secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects your data.

Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists so the app can show it to you. When you ask us to delete your account, your data is removed from the live database within 30 days of a verified request; Stripe retains payment records for as long as financial regulations require, and other connected providers keep data under their own policies. Launch-updates entries are deleted on request at any time.

Children

Vertix is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

You can see and edit almost everything you have entered inside the app. You can request a copy of your data, correction of it, or deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing wickerzachary27@gmail.com; we verify requests against the account email before acting. You can disconnect any third-party integration from Settings at any time. If your local law gives you further rights, you can exercise them the same way.

Changes to This Policy

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page, change the date above, and tell you by email or in the app when the change is significant.

Contact

For privacy questions or requests, contact Zack Wicker at wickerzachary27@gmail.com. I aim to reply within 24 hours.
